Presentation Guidelines
- Be Prepared - practice in front of your family members to get comfortable with material.
- Go with Somebody - Preferrably a Parent or an Adult. This is a great time for you and your parents to do something together!
- Be Considerate - knock and ring bell in a respectable way - no pounding. Be an example of how kids today can and should behave.
- Be Personal - greet person with a smile and a friendly... "Hello, my name is ..." and something like, "I live here in the neighborhood..." (or in the area). Politely ask, if they have a minute to hear how you are earning a trip to Hawaii and helping troubled youth at the same time!
- Be Thankful - and always treat the person(s) with respect.
- Be Informed - explain that you are working with MasterPeace (a non-profit corporation) to help troubled kids all across America. Ask if they would please read the Blue MCI Booklet to get an idea of what it is all about. Quietly Wait while they read (about 5 minutes). If they don't want to read it, go right into the notebook presentation.
